Finnish DJ/Producer/Composer Markus Suomela, aka Subliminal Gravity, started his musical journey at an early age. Although dabbling in a number of instruments, he was drawn to keyboards and synthesizers, and more so music theory and composition. With the advent of computer-generated music, he dove even deeper into electronic music, pushing the boundaries and capabilities of early music apps on pre-Mac computers like the Commodore 128 and Atari computers.
His compositions range from soundscapes to modern classical, and from EDM to EBM, but even across these varied styles, certain signature sounds, melodic progressions, and rhythms can be heard. Whether performing his music live, or DJ'ing an ever-changing tableau of styles, he loves the feeling of audience and performer melding into one happy tribe of dance-music lovers.
Subliminal Gravity is based in New York, and is Markus' outlet for exploring house, techno, and ambient music.
